Guardia di Finanza published images of the operation that led to the ban on a yacht of 4 tonnes of drugs aboard which three Albanian citizens were arrested.
According to the Bar Operational Unit, traffickers initially tried to escape prosecution by disobeying calls for detention, but the escape was not long.
In the interior of the 17m-long luxury device, equipped with the American flag and allegedly rented, 185 packages of cannabis were found, whose value on the Italian market would exceed 40m euros.
Guardia officials di Finanza said that in this case, Albanian police also gave their co-operation.
The first investigation results in the yacht being launched from the Montenegrin coast and that the three traffickers -- aged 54, 28, and 26 -- and residents in Tirana and Durres -- have fled to the country using the Albanian border.
GdF officials underlined that investigations have focused on the discovery of drug origin, which is one of the largest quantities of cannabis that has recently been seized. A total of 28 tonnes have been seized for this year, and 35 scans and traffickers have been charged.
