Among other things, in his speech the Greek president has said Skopje and Tirana are undermining, with their political actions, their European performance, each neighbour using a name that conveys iredentism and another neighbour by violating fundamental human rights and in particular property.
This is also happening with neighbouring Albania. It too must find its place in the EU, but with full respect on European rights. And one of the pillars of European rights is human rights. When we see such violations of fundamental rights, such as property rights, how can Greece favour such a European perspective, a state that violates European rights?!”, the Greek president said.
