For the time the service debuted in 2006, Twitter has increased the limit of the number of characters to “cycrema” from 140 to 280.
The change is currently present only to a small number of users, prior to its global publication.
In his announcement, Twitter has indicated that the limit of 140 characters has often created problems for users, especially those using English, who have been forced to share their publications often in two comments and more.
This problem is not shared by users from Asia, since the nature of their language enables that all 140 characters are not used.
For this reason, Twitter decided to help raise the limit to 280 users' characters in China, Japan and Korea, which will keep the limit to 140 characters. All others will be done with the extension of the limit to 280 characters for comments.
