The three Albanians were caught when detectives from the National Crime Agency and officers from the Met Police, leaving a taxi in Stratford and approaching a parked BMW. One of the Albanians stayed 20 minutes talking to the driver before he left on foot.
When police stopped BMW and controlled it, they found 178,000 pounds.
About half a kilo of cocaine was found hidden in the BMW handbox along with alleged forged documents and which officials believe were being used by Lami.

Steve Miles, from the Organised Crime Partnership, said: “Every organized crime group that carries drugs is a money-based business. If any business loses an expensive commodity in the middle of a transaction, the flow of money flows from both sides.
“This means losing investments in other criminal activities, unable to pay their people, damaging confidence and credibility among criminal groups, and losing face and status with their colleagues makes it harder for them to do business together in the future.

Lami was found guilty of plotting to supply drugs, possession of false documents. Vasija was also found guilty of plotting to clear 178 thousand pounds. Lami was sentenced to nine years in prison, while Vasija was given a two-year sentence. Uku was found guilty of possession with the intention of providing A and B-class drugs. He was sentenced to six years by the Kingston Crown Court.
