AGK reacts to the life threat of journalist Vehbi Cateazi

The editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Insander” Vehbi Katazi has announced the Association of Kosovo Journalists that he has acknowledged a threat to life, the latter report.
Catetazi, according to AGK, has said he was threatened by MP Beke Berisha, who, according to the journalist, has gone to a restaurant of a friend leaving this order: “Tell your friend that if he once again mentions my name in the newspaper, he cuts lead in the forehead of”.
The AGK board is extremely concerned with this threat and calls for quick launch of investigations by justice institutions, said in response.
Kosovo is a country that has consistently faced problems in respecting Media Freedom. International reports this year have recorded the impasses of our country in this area. Especially recently, we have significant increases in serious attacks and threats against journalists.
When we consider the impunity of journalists' attackers or threats, at this stage AGK urgently seeks support from all relevant institutions, including: Kosovo Police, Prosecutor's and other institutions to be activated in creating a better environment for the practice of journalist”'s profession, the response says.
According to the AKG, if it continues with the toleration of these criminal acts in which journalists are victims, then we will have an increase in the number of cases, as well as a continuing loss of trust in security and justice institutions.
