While the Trump administration is considering a government report opposing views on climate change, another UN report concludes that people, with their activity, have caused our planet to mark record high temperatures.
The record high temperatures caused last year Canada's Alberta to be caught in flames...
The deadly heat has caused drought in India, sinking the country into a water crisis...
The planet was hotter than ever before, according to the 2016 Climate Status Report, compiled by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The coauthor of the report spoke with Skype about the Voice of America:
“Raport claims once again something we know. We know that we live on a planet that keeps warm. ...and we know this has caused global problems,” says the researcher.
A climate cycle, says the report El Nino too powerful has contributed to the growth of extreme temperatures, droughts and torrential rains.
These changes from year to year are taking place at the same time as continued concentrations of global gases, at unprecedented levels for at least 800,000 years.
Some 500 scientists from 62 countries have contributed to earth's annual climate study. Scholar Deke Arndt says that the causes of the planet's warming are already known:
We can always review the figures to determine exactly the changes that are taking place, but something is clear: warming our planet is happening mainly by human activity. ”
This conclusion puts the report at odds with the Trump administration climate policy. Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt questions the fact that the cause of pollution is people.
I believe that the ability to measure the accuracy with which human activity affects climate is a controversial subject,”
These US views and withdrawals from the Paris Clima Agreement have raised concerns among a large number of scientists that the Trump administration will end climate research.
These scientists gave the newspaper “The New York Times” a draft report of 13 government agencies, which says that human activity is the primary reason for climate change and that there is no alternative explanation for it.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said it was <x0 lying, yet expected” that the Times “would write a report without previously consulting its contents with the White House”.
But it did not comment on the contents of the report, where it says that “the frequency and intensity of extreme weather will probably increase in the future. ”
Administration officials are expected to complete the review of the climate report by next Friday. / VOA
