SBASK threatens strikes in September

The United Education Union warns strikes in September in the event of non-reflection of local institutions in meeting their demands.

Directors of local education, the actions of the SBASK, that always through strike grant their demands, they are considered selfish. In the Ministry of Education, there will be no strikes in education, as this issue will be resolved with dialogue.

The United Education Union has again warned strikes at the start of the new school year.

This is with the reasoning that local and central institutions are not reflecting on the implementation of the requirements of this Union that are: providing three supplementary salaries, giving three salaries in the case of retirement of educators, paying off a 2 euro share, and paying 70% of the travel of teachers to education. The requirements that, according to the SBASKCI leaders, are legitimate with the New Education Quantive Count signed on April 18th of this year.

Even leaders of the SBASK, holding strikes during the months of the school year, reason on the reflection of institutions.

Berman Jasharaj, chairman of the SBASK, said that as long as these requirements are for teaching why they have never been made over the months, maybe July-August, when there is no loss of education. The “but unfortunately so it would be good but local governments, even after dozens of our dialogue appeals have not reflected and they are usually reflecting unfortunately only when the entire educational system” is blocked, he said.

The education leaders in Mitrovica, show that these requests of the SBASKU are now and a time of fulfillment for the teachers of this municipality. Even SBASK's actions, so that their demands, education leaders in Mitrovica can always be realized as selfish.

Skender Avdiu, the director of education in Mitrovica, said he has implemented the teaching journey, means 70 per cent of the trip paid by the DKA to Mitrovica, as well as attendance salaries and jubilee salaries. The “we need to discuss and find space for the payment of daily dust and educators given the Kosovo budget, it would not be good for demands to be submitted perhaps through strike”, he said.

In the Ministry of Education, there will be no strikes, as in their opinion this issue will be resolved with dialogue.

Faton Fetah declared for RTK, that the representatives of the SBASK themselves are aware that these requirements cannot be realized right now for many reasons.

” They know the budgetary planning of the municipalities is not in August, but it is a whole year of financial planning that needs to be made and co-ordinated in co-operation with the August to then be sent to the MF. Our plans are to ensure that financial planning occurs according to the deadlines the MF sets, and these deadlines begin by September”, he said.

Even leaders of the SBASK have warned that they will submit indictments to the court responsible for failing to realise their requests on the part of local institutions.
