Security experts sound the alarm that over 700 million accounts on various websites may have ended up in hackers' hands.
It's the largest “pam” recorded so far. Some of the accounts have been disabled for some time, but most of them are still active.
The fraud was discovered by a security expert in Paris named Benkow and then spread by ZDnet Port.
In this operation, hackers have sent messages with similar but varied senders inviting them to click on a link sent via e - mail.
According to security experts, those who have fallen prey and clicked on this link have, at best, provided hackers with details about their account and, at worst, hackers have received their password.
The main advice experts give now for all persons possessing an infected account is the immediate change of password and reinforcement of the entire account safety mechanism.
