Bill Gates has donated 5% of his wealth, namely, he has donated $4.6 million.

According to a statement by the Letters Commission, Gates by June 6th has donated a part of Microsoft's shares.

The report stresses that this is the largest donation the billionaire has made since 2000. The recipients of the donation have not been disclosed, however, are expected to go to the Gates charity association.

The Chronic of Philanthropy magazine estimates that this value would raise Gates' total donations for more than $18 billion.

Gates has pledged to donate most of his charity assets. His latest donation represents 38 percent of Microsoft's possessions, but according to Bloomberg, his wealth totals up to $85 billion.
