The chairman of the Stattor Commission in the new KEK Union, Nexhat Llumnica, has spoken of the recent problem posed in connection with the production of electricity at Kosovo thermal power plants.
He has said that in the village of Shippitule of the Obilic municipality, where residents are not allowing coal excavations by KEK if not compensated, there are houses built by state officials so that they can benefit in the future from compensation.
I think there's a lot of homes built in that area that don't have the address. There are people of politics, government, who built there and hide behind different citizens in order to take advantage of this case. This is shown by the villagers themselves, who say that even 48x1> were damaged, Llumnica said on KTV.
According to him, with coal reserves that KEK currently owns, we can have electricity for about a month.
“KEK cannot have more than a month of coal reserves, possibly even earlier, electricity can be stopped. In this case, imported electricity may be unaffordable for the citizen. I believe it will be a 100 per cent increase of the” price, the chairman of the Statator Commission said in the new KEK Trade Union, Nexhat Llumnica.
Another problem, according to him, would also be the fact that sufficient electricity for the needs of citizens could not be imported.
The union has warned the protest. We're about 4,500 workers, and we're very worried. On Wednesday, August 2, Skenderbeu Square. We will protest the price hike as well as against the non-salvation”, he declared.
He said if no solution is made this week, all KEK workers will go on strike next week.
