Angel Maria Villar has been arrested under suspicion of embezzlement of funds, El Pais and Efe news agencies reported.
Villar, former international footballer, has been president of the Spanish Federation since 1988.
His son Gorka is among several other people arrested during the bass on Tuesday.

Spain's Supreme Court told Reuters that its anti-corruption prosecutors are leading investigations.
Willlar has served as the task of the European Football Federation president, UEFA, while its boss, Michel Platini, was under investigation.
