Two astronomers believe they have found new evidence of the existence of the ninth planet, the hypothetical body that is far from the edge of the solar system.
The ninth planet is believed to have the size of Neptune or Uranus, and its orbit is about 700 times the distance of the earth and the sun.
The debate on its existence continues to exist, and it is largely based on discoveries that most of the Quipper Belt have unusual orbits. This time, astronomers from the Complutensian University in Madrid discovered that 28 objects from this strip are grouped for no apparent reason.
The only explanation for all this right now is that these objects could be under the influence of the ninth planet.
The new work is published in “Monthly Notes of the Royal Astronomical Society”.
