A LG Chem spokesman refused to comment on the report, while there were no statements from Apple as well.
The subsidiary of the Korean giant LG, LG Chem, will be Apple's exclusive battery supplier for iPhone 9 next year, Korean media reported Friday.
LG Chem has invested billions of dollars to produce batteries in the form of a “L-e” for next year's iPhone wrote Korea Economic Daily citing sources from the chemical industry.
A LG Chem spokesman refused to comment on the report, while there were no statements from Apple as well.
LG Chem shares increased by 3.7% to affect the highest level since April 2016.
