French imams, but others from various European countries, began today in Paris a march against terrorism that would later take them to Germany and Belgium, calling on Muslims not to join the crimes committed in the name of Islam.
Our message is clear, we cannot unite Islam with these barbarians and assassins, who kill in the name of Allah”, said Drensi's imam (Paris Perserfer), Hassen Chalgooum, who was also in the initiative of this march.
Surrounded by about 30 immams coming from various regions of France, but also Italy, Portugal and Belgium, he called on civil society to mobilise while jihadist assassinations have made hundreds of victims in Europe in recent years, while about 70,000 young people have left for Iraq and Syria.
But questioned about the significant lack of believers during the call for this Muslim march and the rejection of this initiative by the French Council of Myssliman Kult, Chalghoumi said that “we should ask what are the motives of those who criticise the initiative of a march against the barbarians”.
