Facebook reported on Wednesday an increase in its profits in the past quarter, thanks to advertising that increased to more than two billion users.
Net profit in the second quarter went to 71% year-on-year from $3.9 billion to $9.3 billion.
Within hours, Facebook shares increased from 2% to $166.83, the results from the social network, the newspaper Express broadcast.
“We had a good second quarter and a good one-half-year-on-year”, chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said.

The number of people using Facebook at least once a month turned out to be 2.01 billion at the end of June, an increase of 17% from last year.
