BMW had more to show in addition to the new X3 model, as their Spartanburg factory in South Carolina has officially become the largest location of the company's production. This US-based factory employs more than 9,000 people, and the bavarese car factory plans to add more than 1,000 [...]
This US-based factory employs more than 9,000 people, and the bavarese car factory plans to add more than 1,000 countries by 2021.

This is part of a $600 million investment that will take place between 2018 and 2021 and expand the Spartanburg facility to make it suitable for the next generation of X models.

The factory currently produces models X3,X4,X5 and X6, and exports 70 per cent of its production to more than 140 countries. This makes the BMW Group the largest exporter of vehicles from the US in terms of monetary value, according to the American Department of Commerce.

Citing free trade as the main factor of the factory's success is seen by analysts as a rejection of US President Donald Trump's recent comments on German vehicles. /Indesksonline/
