The lowest birth rate is recorded in Gjirokastra County, 138 births, with a drop of 10.4 %, compared to the first quarter 2016.

The largest number of births are registered in Tirana's district at 2,087 births, which mark growth of 1.5 %, compared to the first quarter 2016. Tirana's district and Vlora's district are the only districts that suffered growth in the number of births in the first quarter 2017, compared to the first quarter 2016, even though this growth results in very small.

The largest decline in birth rates during this period was presented by the suburb of Berat with 14.3 %.

The number of deaths for the first quarter 2017 results in 6.031, marking an increase of 2.6 %, compared to the first quarter 2016.

The largest death toll is recorded in Tirana district at 1,448 deaths, marking an increase of 6.3 %, compared to the first quarter 2016.

The death toll has increased in almost every circuit in the first quarter of 2017 compared with the first quarter of 2016.

The largest increase has been registered in the Dibra district by 7.8 %. Elbasan's district marked the largest drop in the number of deaths by 2.7 %, followed by the Shkodra circuit by 0.9 %, compared to the first quarter 2016. /Monitor/
