Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has said that if the Kosovo issue were a condition for his country's EU membership, Serbia's “membership could happen in 2023, but I would not rule out 2022”.
“ ... European Union issue and question whether the Kosovo issue will be a condition. I am not optimistic about the issue of resolving [the problem] Kosovo, because I see how in Pristina they think and act, but at the same time in Serbia there are people who still dream of myth”, Vuciq has said.
I'm not a great optimist. Will I give all of myself rationally to see what we can most benefit from and what we lose at least I'll give myself everything, even though I'll know this would be the end of my political career”, Vuciq is expressed on Serbia's “Happy” television, broadcasting Time.net.
“Personally will give everything from myself”, Vuciq said, and added that within the internal dialogue for Kosovo it will show what he thinks would be the solution.
Vuciq has also talked about the meeting he held with senior American official, already ambassador to Macedonia Brian Hoyt Yee. He has said they have held a difficult conversation about Kosovo.
“We have developed a heavy conversation. He was brutally clear and conveyed his administration's position. He told me not to think about changing borders, and I told you it meant to change boundaries nine years ago. He has openly presented anti-Russian positions, while I have told him that we stand on our European path, and I have told Putin and Lavrov”, said the head of the Serbian state, Vuciq.
