The ruling coalition partners with the appointment of 67 deputy ministers, who have an assistant and personal drivers, the poor Kosovo budget, cost over 1.5m euros annually. If their numbers increase, as expected to happen, around 2m euros will be spent solely on their salaries.
Salaries of 67 deputy ministers appointed so far by the government “Haradinaj” Kosovo's budget will cost around 1m euros annually without including the salaries of 67 their assistants and as many drivers.
Salaries of deputy ministers amount to about 350 euros a month, as do drivers' salaries.
According to a simple estimate, the salaries of deputy ministers, assistants and drivers total over 1.5m euros annually.
However, this figure could very quickly reach 2 million if the number of deputy ministers reaches 80, as the ruling coalition partners are based on reconciliation.
Finance Ministry officials have announced to the newspaper “Voice” that a deputy minister's salary currently is 1,182,50 euros until the assistant and driver's salary is 348.5 euros.
