He said he asked the American State Department to bring the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as soon as possible.
According to Trump, this decision is not against anyone but is simply a decision made decades ago by Congress but has not been implemented until now.
Jerusalem is a sacred city for Jews, Muslims, and Christians. It is the most beautiful and democratic country in the world. There they all live together. However, Israel as a sovereign state has the right to have its capital wherever it wants”, Trump has said.
The decision to recognise Jerusalem the capital of Israel will produce many tensions between Arab and Turkish countries. Following the warning that Trump will make this decision, the first and most vocal one to have reacted has been Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He has said such a decision would have serious consequences for Turkish-American relations.
