The tembin, with winds up to 80km/h (50 mph), is now passing through Mindanao and heading towards the southern tip of Palawan before moving further west.
The Philippines suffers regularly from deadly tropical storms, although Mindanao has not been hit frequently, reports “BBC”, report Periscope.
Tembin, known as Vinta in the Philippines, began gripping Mindanao on Friday, with a state of emergency declared in several parts, including the Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur regions.

Disaster management officials quoted by “Filips Daily Inquirer” said there were at least 62 victims in Lano del Norte, another 46 in Zambonga del Norte and at least 18 in Lanao del Sur.
Tuud Gerry Param police official told the news agency “AFP” that there were at least 19 deaths in the city, located in Lanao del Norte.
“Lum up and most houses deleted. The village is no longer there”, he said.
He said volunteers were digging through the mud to find the bodies in the village of Dalama.
Another official told “AFP” that at least 10 people had died in the town of Piagapa, 10km east of Tubuod.
“We have sent rescuers, but they are making little progress because of the” rocks, Sapada Packasum said.
More deaths were reported in the cities of Sibuco and Salug.
