Oyota has become the last car giant to concentrate on electric vehicles, saying that any model Toyota or Lexus will come to the current option by 2025.
As part of the new strategy, Toyota, which sold 10.2 million cars last year, said that by 2030 it is intended to have annual sales of 5.5 million electric cars, which will have batteries or hybrid systems, of which one million will be zero gas emissions.
Shigeki Terashi, vice president of the company, said Toyota's new electric cars would initially go on sale in China, while later that will be done in Japan, India, the US and Europe.
The company will invest 1.5 trillion yen (10 billion pounds) to achieve its goals.
