He says that if Serbia reaches the final phase of talks with the EU without normalising relations with Kosovo, it will receive nothing in return.
The server states normalisation includes two important steps of Kosovo's admission to the UN and exchange of diplomats at the ambassador level, reports “Vicice of America”, Periscopi broadcast.
“If Serbia should normalise relations with Kosovo, Belgrade's approach is to delay it shortly before entering the EU, which is a serious error”, Server said.
He also believes Moscow will not help in talks between Pristina and Belgrade.
In the end, Russia has recognised the independence of Georgia and Moldova's isolated provinces, while annexing Crime and supporting separatists in Ukraine. A question remains if it is wise for Serbia to rely on Russia to confirm sovereignty over Kosovo?
He adds that in the final phase of the negotiations, all the levers are in the hands of the EU.
“Pyet only Slovenia and Croatia, which should make concessions on important issues in the final phase of their accession negotiations”, the Server added.
“Let's be clear: Serbia is free to elect its allies, just like any other sovereign state, but really cannot sit on two” chairs. Its foreign policy reconciliation with the EU is part of the process of qualifying for environmental membership in this regard in the near future, voting to enter the EU will simply not be there when the time comes, unless Serbia meets all criteria for membership,”, he said.
According to him, this means it would be wiser for Serbia to decide as soon as possible for the EU leader.
He says it is worth not only harmonising his policy with Russia with EU sanctions, as well as the Union's other decisions towards Russia, but also acknowledges “the Republic of Kosovo's territorial integrity and normalisation of relations between the two countries”.
“One-three of the 28 EU members have recognised Kosovo and I doubt any of those 23 will be ready to accept Serbia as an EU member, unless it normalizes its relations with its former province”, the Server said.i. /Periscopi/
