Serbia is holding northern Kosovo as a devised bomb

Security throughout Kosovo, particularly in the northern part, is being named sensitive after successive incidents that were marked in the last two months.

Aware of the security circumstances in the country stress that Kosovo institutions are facing challenges to ensuring security especially in northern Mitrovica, though they are trying to keep the situation under control.

Security Affairs expert Avni Islami has declared that Kosovo's north is the bomb planted by the Government of Serbia.

We have repeatedly stressed that even in the past, but even today, northern Kosovo, or more specifically, the North Mitrovica bomb planted by the Government of Serbia along with organised groups in northern Mitrovica. Whenever they need them, whether for internal purposes or even on the international level, destabilise the north of Mitrovica”, Islam for Actives says.

He adds that such developments are putting the Republic of Kosovo's security institutions in a poor position.

Meanwhile for Burim Ramadani, connoisseur of these circumstances, the security situation in the north of the country is under the control of institutions, though he, estimates that the overall situation throughout Kosovo is sensitive.

Ramadani considers that incidents in northern Kosovo are being conducted for political motives on the part of the Serbian side.

“Security throughout Kosovo and in the north in particular continues to be sensitive, but under the control of institutions. I don't see any serious indicators of security disorders. Security institutions must constantly have increased care, although isolated cases like these in the north present no security challenge. So, I don't see security challenges in Kosovo, but isolated cases that have political messages”, he said.

Kosovo's north has been prey to several attacks that took place especially against members of the Kosovo Police, KSF and AKI agents.

Two months ago, a Kosovo Police patrol was attacked in Zubin Potok, meanwhile in November of this year, the homes of members of the Serb community of KSF attacked by explosive means.

Not enough of these developments, in the country's north, two days ago was attacked by strong means by a local man in whom former Dialog minister Edita Tahiri was staying.

Meanwhile, according to Avni Islami, the north of Mitrovica is being used for internal political purposes of Serbia's <x0 ... organised criminal groups with the directives of” and is affecting destabilisation of the situation throughout Kosovo.

“This is a bad alarm for Kosovo institutions, because despite all the dedication and work that it is doing in northern Kosovo, much work remains to be done for Kosovo security authorities to establish their sovereignty and control that item”, he estimates.

Meanwhile, according to Burim Ramadani, importance for security in the north is also KFOR's presence.

“In municipalities in northern Kosovo, security institutions are present and carry out their duties. However, KFOR's presence is also an additional guarantee for Kosovo's stability and security”, the security connoisseur stressed.
