Kosovo's Ministry of Internal Affairs has allowed all citizens of its own to obtain the driver's license of the Republic of Kosovo without even entering the test, provided they have access to Serbia's driving permit issued before 2016.
Kosovo Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Milan Radojevic has told Serbia's public television that this is a very important decision for Kosovo Serbs.
Radojevic added that this decision is important if taken into account that freedom of movement for Kosovo Serbs is directly conditioned by the possession of personal documents.
The “is a positive decision for Serbs, and has to do with getting the license of the local or Kosovo driver, which will enable free movement for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija”, said Radojevic, broadcast Koha.net.
He said the decision includes all those who passed the driving test until September 14, 2016, when the latest freedom of movement agreement was signed in Brussels.
“From the necessary documents, the original Serbian driver's license, which I have to tell you will be returned, driving exam certificate, tax payment, and medical certificate”, Radojevic concluded.
