“During a recent visit to the Patriarch Theofillos III of Jerusalem, I expressed the absolute view that the status quo of the holy city of Jerusalem must be preserved despite new decisions to change it”, Bartholomew said during an address at a Greek school in Istanbul to mark Christmas Day on December 24th.
“All Christians in Jerusalem, not only Orthodox, but Catholics and Armenians share the same opinion”, he said, adding “Hurriyet Daily News”, the Periscopi broadcast.
Letter to Palestinian President
Bartholomew said he received an official message from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to celebrate Christmas and New Year's Day.
