Family of journalist Saranda Ramaj fears, AGK reacts

In a report to AGKA media, the journalist's family became fearful while she was away.

“Ejup Simnica, an audience in the General Auditor's Office even though the unknown person for my family has gone to my home in Raddac, Pec, and my parents have paid a card visit telling them not to continue reporting to him” had shown the journalist among other things.

Kosovo Journalists' association (AGK) strongly condemns the intimidation inflicted on the family of journalist Saranda Ramaj by a public official. AGK has been announced by our member Saranda Ramaj that one person has caused intimidation to members of her family during the time that journalist Ramaj was not home. “Ejup Simnica, audience at the General Auditor's Office even though the unknown person for my family has gone to my home in Radavc, Pec, and my parents have paid a card visit telling them not to continue reporting to him” indicates Ramaj among other things. She has announced that the case has already been reported to the Kosovo Police.

This kind of intimidation, except it's direct intervention in journalists' work, is also a camouflaged threat.

The Kosovo Journalists' Association simultaneously invites the Kosovo Police and justice bodies to investigate and judge the case according to the laws in Kosovo and based on the practice of the European Court of Human Rights.
