Banks have also insisted on the online payment system this year with the aim of possible cash use.
Otherwise, the Central Bank of Europe has warned that it will not be allowed to issue 500-euro bills. This will apply to the second half of 2018.
Current 500-euro bills will remain in circulation, while new ones will not be issued, in order to reduce access to cash ready to conduct transactions.
