The chairman of the Republic of Kosovo, Kadri Wessel, has met today the chief of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Natalia Apostolova, and ambassadors of EU countries accredited in Kosovo.
Chairman Wessel briefed them on the work of the Parliament, stressing that it has intensified, in particular on issues related to the European agenda. He cited some of the bills that connect to this agenda, which have been adopted in the Assembly, but others expected to be adopted at the following sessions.
As for other developments, in particular for the border demarcation agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and Montenegro, Chief Parliamentary Veselini once again voiced his position that this agreement must be overcome in order to strengthen the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo and pave the way for visa liberalisation.
My position, but my subject I represent is clear. The agreement with Montenegro must be ratified. The deal has to pass and our vote is “pro”, as we have repeatedly said. However, I believe there should be a complete consensus on this deal”, he stressed.
But Chairman Wessel stressed that the European Union must also act quickly and clearly on visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens.
At this meeting, Chief Parliamentary Veselin has discussed with ambassadors of the countries of the European Union his commitment to intensifying the work of the Parliament to meet the legislative agenda on the path towards European integration.
