That means Apple is working on a new component that won't be available in Android for a while. And yes, that means another Apple supplier will get a heavy financial blow as a result.
Apple is designing the chips of their power, which, according to Nikkei, must be produced by T SMC, Apple supplier.
The power management chip, which controls loading iPhones, battery management and energy consumption, is a critical but boring component.
It is a trait that is rarely mentioned. But Nikkei says the company's new chip “would be the most advanced in industry, according to resources, and it may have processing skills that allow it to monitor and control energy consumption among different components”.
