The Bank of Albania has done a detailed analysis of our country's gross external debt, when it turns out that in relation to gross domestic production, external debt has dropped by 5 percentage points, reaching 70% of GDP.
The government accounts for the largest weight in the external debt structure by 43.2% of the total, or about 3.4 billion euros. According to GDP, the government's external debt is estimated at 30.2%, at a rate of 1.7 percentage points compared to the previous year.
After the government is receiving the debt, loans are listed among foreign direct investment companies, with 22.3% of total, and the loans of deposit corporations, other sectors' debt and monetary authority continue.
The ratio between external debt and our exports is at 183.6%, with a decline compared to a year ago. but the Albanian bank estimates that this indicator is again above the critical threshold of 150%.
The currency reserve stomach in our country is enough to withstand possible negative blows from abroad. This reserve covers over six and a half months of imports of goods and services.
