Vetevendosje MP and founder Albin Kurti to this day, on December 7th 2017, is being judged by Kosovo's justice for the casting of tear gas into Kosovo's Assembly Hall, in opposition to two international agreements -- that of the Association of Serbian municipalities and the Agreement on Demarketing with Montenegro.
Kurti's actions, along with other VV and opposition deputies, took place during the past Kosovo Parliament legislature.
But this date has another meaning for Kurt.
On December 7th 2001, Kurti had been released from Serbian prisons following international pressure to free political prisoners of the Serbian regime, writes Periscopi.
16 years later, Kurt again finds himself in front of the justice organs, but this time not in Serbian justice, but in Kosovo's. Kurti, like when he did not know the justice controlled by former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, does not even recognise this justice system, which he says is controlled and serves people who have taken power.
On March 13, 2000, Albin Kurti was sentenced to 15 years in heavy prison. During the trial, he refused to acknowledge the legitimacy of the court, saying: “This trial has nothing in common with truth and justice. This trial serves the daily policy of the Milosevic regime, which has kept Kosovo under an occupation of”.
While, when convicted, he had said that “is not important if you condemn me and punish me. I've done everything I've done voluntarily and with dignity, and I'm proud of it, and if I had the chance, I'd do the same again. ”
Kurti is the most voted politician according to the results of the June 11th elections. He and his organisation, Vetevendosje, still oppose the current version of demarcation, agreement that will soon appear in the Assembly to vote, attached to the Haradinaj government's new commission report.
According to a written spell. com, Kurti in the past 20 years has held four bits of prison, due to ongoing accusations by the Serbian regime, the EULEX mission and Kosovo justice, as a result of its political commitments. /Periscope.
