After Suriname, even this powerful European state is considering attracting recognition of Kosovo

Czech President Milos Zaman has been speaking decisively against Catalonia's independence, as it would have “opened Pandora's box and launched a chain reaction”. In a television interview, Zaman also recalled his stance on Kosovo.
“Today Catalonia, tomorrow in northern Italy, one day in Scotland, after that Basque place, because ETA would like the same thing. Next week Moravia, then Slovakia south... then Cyprus. Once this chain reaction begins, it will never stop”, Zeman said during his regular weekly interview with private television broadcaster Cebarov Barrandov.
The Czech president stressed that he was flatly opposed to the independence of European regions, as this opens Pandora's box and remembers that the referendum in Catalonia and the declaration of independence is against Spain's constitution, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
The Czech Republic is one of the countries that recognised Kosovo's declared unilateral independence ? happened in May 2008, during President Vaclav Klaus's mandate.
Zeman warned last month, on the occasion of the referendum in Catalonia, that the international community was using double standards when it acknowledged a violation of Serbia's territorial integrity in the case of Kosovo's secession.
“I have criticised Kosovo's secession at the time and I consider a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council resolution (1244), which, if you still remember, guarantees Serbia's territorial integrity over Kosovo”, Zaman said during the interview.
The Czech president added that what he could do is not to send the Czech ambassador to Pristina./Periscopi/
