China has descended from the United States' throne as far as it belongs to “supercomputers”.
It's about large, costly systems made up of hundreds of particularly powerful processors designed for studies in various fields, since climate study, nuclear simulations, weather forecasts, and so forth.
China owns all 202 such computers, leaving the United States behind with 143, Japan with 35 and Germany with 20 of them.
This said, published by “Top500” confirms the rise in China's interest in research and scientific fields, where it invests 20 percent of global total.
