But who is the organization Houthi ʹ the rebel group that claimed responsibility for the attack?
Houthi, officially called “Ancer Allah” (God's supporters), it's a religious-political movement run by people of the Shievit sect coming from the north of Yemen. This movement was established in 1990.
The rebel movement Houthi is known as the anti-government movement in Yemen.
The group is now led by Abdul-Malik al-Houth, the brother of the first leader, who was reportedly killed by Yemeni's military forces in Saleh in 2004. By the end of 2014, the Howths had also taken control of Yemen's capital and much of the northern state.
In 2003, the Houthi group slogan: “The Lord is great, death to the United States, death to Israel, curse on Jews and triumph for Islam” became the official slogan of the group.
Rebels “Huth” have said today they fired a ballistic missile on the capital of Saudi Arabia. According to the rebel group, this long-range missile traveled over 500km from Yemen to Saudi Arabia.
A rebel spokesman told Al Jazeera they hit Riyadh a Burkan 2-H rocket late Saturday.
Al Mashah, a TV network led by the rebels Houthi, also reported that the rebel group “Huth” claimed responsibility for the attack.
