In a response to Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq's statement, she said that the final agreement between Pristina and Belgrade does not even imply recognition of Kosovo's independence.
“Of course we can become EU members even without knowing Kosovo. This is the essence of the agreement on normalisation, we will not be obliged to recognise Kosovo's independence. There will surely be numerous compromises, but provided Kosovo form the Serb majority municipality community”, Joksimovic told RTS, broadcast news.net.
Under it, the contents of the agreement will be determined by the results of dialogue between the two countries.
There will be no dilemma, Kosovo or the EU. If these problems were in place, then Brussels has other conditions, such as reforms, rule of law and administrative capacity”, the Serbian minister stressed.
The Serbian president, during his visit to Brussels, stressed that Serbia has been asked for a final agreement with Kosovo.
“Dialog Belgrade-Pristina will continue under EU auspices whether in Brussels or elsewhere. The 35th chapter will not be closed until relations between Belgrade and Pristina are normalised, here they say Serbia and Kosovo. It's a heavy task. That's why all our people should be involved, therefore we have made an internal dialogue”, Vuciq said.
Even though not directly, he indicated that even Kosovo's recognition can be a condition for Serbia.
