Qos: Albania, Kosovo moving towards union

Academyist Rexhep Qosja says Albania and Kosovo are moving towards joining themselves. In an interview with Rudina Junga in Vizion Plus, Qosja has said that a union between the two countries would only bring good, and that joining the European Union is not possible.

“The Albanian national issue, the issue of Kosovo and Albania, will therefore be resolved as Kosovo's union with Albania without entering the European Union because only the united one provides the ideal that generations have wanted during these years”, Qosja said.

November 28th and 29th, the days of Albania's 105th anniversary of Independence, we now record them with a very great experience, with an experience of generations living from the creation of Albania in 1912 until now. These are generations that have experienced joys, triumphs, but also great despairs and tragedies. These generations, which have left us a great political and social, state and historical experience, have experienced two Balkan wars during which the Albanian state, Albania, and have created it by remaining out of this state, with the blame of Balkan neighbours, of course the major powers of the time of Europe, that is, remaining outside this country more than half the population and almost half the number of lands in which Albanians were the only population or vast ethnic majority.

Besides these two Balkan Wars, these generations have experienced two World Wars, and besides that, they have then experienced the Liberation Fight for Albania's liberation from the fascist and Nazi occupation. Furthermore, these generations have experienced the Kosovo Liberation War, which would not have been done had Albania not been created as it was in the end. They have then experienced a war of Albanians in Macedonia for their rights and for the statehood of Albanians in this Republic.

These generations, who have left us this great political, social, state and historical experience that we have today, have created and changed several political-Social order and juridical constitutions, have created republic, created kingdoms, created semi-feutal states such as Ahmet Zogu's kingdom, created two republics -- the republic of democratic Albania and the democratic Republic of Kosovo. The generations before us have experienced despoti, experienced tyranny, experienced totalitarianism, and are now experiencing democracy and pseudomocracy, experiencing authoritarianism and experiencing, frankly, even a kind of despotism.

The experiences of previous generations, from 1912 onward, and this experience is rich and great, require that we really see the situation we are in today so that we can take an objective view of our thinking today.

What are we seeing, what are we hearing, what are we experiencing today, and of course, what do we want today?

We need to know first of all that the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 20th century have offered us a great historic chance to make corrections in the great injustice that has been done at the Berlin Congress, at the Balkan Peace Conference in London, at the Summer Conference after World War I, and beyond at the end of World War II. This requires that we take a close look at our situation today - knowing what we are seeing, what we are hearing, and what we are experiencing. And we, what we're seeing, we're hearing and we're experiencing, make us more incompatible than compatible with the social and social status that is today.

Of course our foreign policy is a right policy and I want to say it's right with our merits, but above all it's fair at the credit of the state that has played a huge role in solving the Kosovo issue and creating the state of Kosovo, and these are the United States of America. Satisfied with foreign policy, we can be very unhappy with domestic politics today, although even with this policy some efforts are being made to improve the situation. Today, we see phenomena that weigh down our lives, which are not good for us, actually harm us even in the eyes of internationals in general. In the minds of those who have been given votes to the people, in the minds of the greatest number of them, there is today a mess, there is a great confusion today. And if that were not so, it would not happen that injustice would rule justice, it would not happen that we did not have equality of dignity, it would not happen that citizens would not be equal before courts, that there would not happen to be pandemic corruption in Kosovo and Albania, that Kosovo would especially suffer so much of the nepotism that is a primitive phenomenon, in which many citizens are discriminated against and favoured by the relatives of people who have power, their parties, their friends and their well-being!

All these phenomena are the result of the vague and unjust thinking of some rulers, not only today but also tomorrow. And we need to think, and we need to know, and we need to know what we want and what belongs to us at this time, in this historic prospect that we have been offered. I say we are entitled to what I said before, we are entitled to the effort to improve the situation we have inherited from the international conference in which it is decided on the fate of the Balkan peoples.

We would have to have the goal, what is our goal, and at the same time we have to have it clear, to know the way we have to pursue that goal, we should have the path clear so that we don't wander around the alleys. And this goal of ours today is, as the first point, improving the serious historical situation we have inherited: uniting Kosovo with Albania. We hear today people who have been given the people's trust to think about their situation, but also about the Albanian issue in general, how this issue will be resolved in the Union of Europe. No, it will not be resolved in the Union of Europe. Just as it does not allow a member state to divide into two states, the European Union does not allow its two member states to unite into one state. The Albanian national issue, the issue of Kosovo and Albania, will therefore be resolved as Kosovo's union with Albania without entering the European Union because only united us is the ideal one that generations have wanted during these years.

Why the Kosovo union with Albania?

This is not only a matter of the wishes, of the will, or the feelings of Albanians, but it is an issue that resolves many other issues of the life of the Albanian people. Kosovo with united Albania creates much better natural, geographical, political, economic, health, education, cultural, scientific conditions for a better life of Albania's people and united Kosovo. They make possible a certainty of the achievement of future generations, make it possible to increase the welfare of the Albanian people, make possible a life under conditions in which good things will flourish that people of politics today do not mention, with which they unfortunately fail to deal, but make it possible that in this life Kosovo and united Albania flourish the greatest values such as culture, civilization, arts, literature, sciences that ensure the identity of a people and values that lead a people historically.

It is not in vain that ancient Greece does not live because they have lived and dealt with state and political figures. Ancient Greece lives in the works of Homer, Eskili, Sophocles, Euripides, Plato, Herakles, Aristotle. They are men who even from the graves speak to future generations.

So I point out today that culture, spiritual creativity, arts, science, civilization should be taken care of, which, unfortunately, today do not take into account policymakers.

Commending the Albanian people's big party, the biggest festival for the Albanian people, the 105th anniversary of Albania's Independence, congratulating the Albanian people on Flag Day, which, here, is now officially accepted as well as the day to be celebrated in Kosovo, I wish that the upcoming holidays of Albania's Independence and Kosovo Independence celebrate in Albania and in Kosovo, united Professor Qosja said.
