Llumnica: Unreasonable to go on strike for costs that KEK can cover

The chairman of the new KEK Workers Union, Nedzat Llumnica, has announced that they could go on strike until their demands for salary increases and collective agreement implementation are met by Klan Kosova. He said working conditions cannot be properly regulated because at KEK it is [...]
He said that working conditions cannot be properly regulated because at KEK it is the job site that cannot have good conditions, but said they want to raise standards, and raise salaries that have had it in demand since the beginning of the year.
Another requirement is to give coal to KEK workers, and these are the points they've been protesting.
He said that in the New Union, they have organised this protest as the New Trade Union General Council's decision, as well as the pressure on workers for promises Llumnica says they have given to the Prime Minister and Chief Parliament on 2 June.
“on June 2nd they have promised that the salary hike would be 100 euros by June 12th. But this has not happened”, Llumnica said at the Info Magazine of Kosovo.
The KEK actually has its own budget, and it can decide for itself, but the government is the only KEK shareholder and can help this process”.
Llumnica said they have spoken with KEK, with KEK management and board, but says their demands for salary raises and collective agreements have been ignored.
“We are told that we cannot grow our salaries”, Llumnica said, adding that the obstacle to salary raising is capital investments that are made by tens of millions, which he said they consider not so much, because some work done within KEK by other companies can be done by KEK workers.
He considers the promise of salary increases absurd if they have known that finances are impossible to do so.
The “has to be understood between itself”
But we know it could be”.
Even for the collective agreement, he said it is an agreement that does not have a high cost, and followed by saying lunches and management dinners cover the cost of this agreement.
This agreement includes Jubilar rewards, medical holidays that have to be paid 100%, and some points he says are not expensive, as well as workers with three years of working stages in KEK to have a long-term contract and not a one-year contract.
Llumnica said they believe they will even be on strike based on the law for strike, but he doesn't believe he had to be on grounds to strike for a cost that, according to him, KEK could cover.
