Lawyer Gashi tells when to free Albin Kurti

The same are in charge of criminal acts in connection with the case of tear gas drop last year in the Kosovo Parliament.

Former LVV leader Albin Kurti was arrested in the court of the legislative body while MPs were going to the session.

During this moment of arrest, police had also used tear gas to disperse the other deputies of “Vevendosje” who tried to counter the arrest.

There is, however, the possibility that Kurt will be released earlier than there is a measure of ban. So stated Kosovo lawyer Tome Gashi.

He has said the law does not specify the convict to remain in custody for a month. According to him, Kurt is expected to be released very soon.

Then, Gashi explains how the month-appointed move could be interrupted.

“They are formal, with which the detention measure for the three deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement in a month's term, but this is the maximum term as the law envisions it, in no way means that it stays in custody for a month, but that surely the chairman of the court will soon set the hearing for which judgment is being held regarding the drop of tear gas in the Kosovo Assembly.

“Down, they will be sent to judicial or key reviews, so it is by no means and it is not lawful for the detention measure to last for the time it is scheduled for a month, which falls that much faster it will be released from detention”, Gashi told “Indexline”

On the other hand, he added that in this case there is no “hand” nothing to the VV leader. According to Gashi, the sooner the court hearing is held.

This is not up to anything, but depending on the court, it must impose the trial as soon as possible and the moment it is set for the court then the detention measure can be interrupted”, it has ended.

Otherwise, the Constitutional Court on Wednesday had issued arrest warrants for these deputies due to their failure to appear in a court hearing regarding the case of tear gas drop in the Assembly last year.
