According to the Serbian government, Brnabiq “thanked him for his country's support for regional dialogue and stability of the Western Balkans, which has shown through its activity in the framework of the Berlin process”.
The two officials stressed that Italy is Serbia's first biggest investor and second largest trade partner and that there is room for increased trade between the two countries, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcasts.
Brnabyq stressed that the Serbian government has enabled good business conditions, as evidenced by a large number of Italian companies and invited other Italian investors to do business in Serbia.
Corsini praised the reforms and modernisation of Serbia's society, adding that this is a safe way to join the European Union.
Parliament and Italy's government will provide all the assistance needed for Serbia on this road, he underlined.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic also hosted the Italian Senate's Foreign Affairs Committee Delegation, including Corsin and Senator Vito Petrocelli.
Participants at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between Serbia and Italy, which have the character of a strategic partnership.
The two sides concluded that parliamentary co-operation is high, which contributes significantly to improving bilateral relations between the two countries.
Daciq thanked for the support Italy's Parliament gives Serbia on its path to the EU and briefed its co- talkers about the current situation in the field of European integration, as well as for dialogue with Pristina.
He made a special reference to the historical and religious aspects of Kosovo, namely, essential reasons why Serbia will never recognise Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence.
Members of the Italian Senate's Foreign Affairs Committee delegation expressed their gratitude for organising this visit, which is of great importance to review fully the possibilities for improving comprehensive bilateral relations and exchanging regional views and global issues, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs./Periscopi/
