Marina Torvenne, a 32-year professional police officer from Finland, has travelled to Kosovo to testify in the judgment of Kosovo's deputy prime minister.
The prosecution's guest is initially being interrogated by prosecutor Charles Hardaway.
My main “is the investigation into finance, anything that concerns money in one way or another”, said witness Tovenne.
Asked by prosecutor Hardaway if she ever worked in EULEX, the witness replied that she has entered the EU's mission for Rule of Law in November 2010 and left the mission in February 2014.
I was assigned to the organised crime unit as an investigator. My tasks were mostly assigned to this case (MTPT), there was no other major case, but, of course, I have participated in various operations which were performed by our unit, or other units”, the witness said.
Marina Tovenne later indicated that after a while she became the chief investigator in the case of Limaj and others.
I wasn't originally the main investigator in this case, she was a colleague of mine from Slovenia. But there came a moment when my colleague returned and I became a leading investigator. I just now had more knowledge of the case”, Tovenne said.
Prosecutor Hardaway asked the witness whether EULEX's operation in the former Transport and Post-Telekom facility was remembered.
If it's about the building near Mother Teresa Square, then the witness answered.
In this trial process Fatmir Limaj is accused of abuse of office and organised crime over tenders for maintenance of roads in the Gjilan municipality. Nexhat Krasniqi of Andrew Shala is charged with the same works. Part of the trial is the Telaku Rescue of Florim Zuka.
