They were attacked by Amazon pirates, and in an effort to escape, they were thrown off the ship and hid in the jungle, where insects and fruits were fed.
Brazil's police reported that people who stole ships held the crew and passengers hostage. After hours of research, the Harteau family was nowhere to be found.
Adam and Emily Harteau and their daughters, three and seven years old, fled in a car but were found in good health. They were immediately taken to the hospital near the area to conduct a thorough search.
