Here's how you can get away with driving in the water

The best way to get out of the car as soon as possible. After falling into the water, you have one minute to leave the car, according to Gordon Geisbrecht of Manitoba University.

He is a trainer and trains many to escape from falling vehicles. According to him, there are four golden rules to follow if you are in such a situation.

They are:

1. Do not call the police or the emergency Let's just get out of the car. That's because you're going to spend time looking for your phone, calling your number and then waiting on the line. “Time is very important”, says Geisbrecht. “If you touch your phone, you are most likely to be dead too quickly”.

2. Take off your belt. It seems simple, but often most people forget to do that by trying to call the police or the emergency.

3. Don't open the door. By opening the door you'll allow water to get in too fast and make the dive process faster. You'll only have 30 seconds before the water reaches the window base. This period is called “and then suspension”, after which water will create pressure with all its strength and break the window.

4. You may come to a situation where you are forced to break a window. Many modern vehicles have electronic windows that can be damaged by water before you have the chance to open them. In this particular case, you should quickly open the window as soon as you're in the water and break the window and exit the car through the window.
