Puigdemont, currently found in Belgium, has said this is a political judgment.
Spain has been in constitutional crisis since holding the Catalonia independence referendum on October 1st, which has been deemed illegal.
Catalonia has declared independence, after which the central government has imposed direct rule in this region.
