Vetevendosje MP Faton Topalli has said the town of Ferizaj is being discriminated against because there is none in either of the country's two main highways, the one that connects with Albania and Skopje.
He has said Ferizaj has a lot of economic, productive and commercial power that needs a close share.
But that's not happening. The highways will be used to mainly import goods from Serbia, and at least for local traders' producers”, Topalli said.
He asked the Minister of Infrastructure, Paul Lekaj, if there's going to be Feriz was on the highway and when that's gonna happen.
And the minister said this is the highway that connects the main capital.
“As far as road direction 6, is part of the basic Southeast European transport network connecting the region's main capitals with ports and airports like Pristina, Skopje, Thessaloniki and Sofia. Ferizaj's city link is designed to be on the Bibyj highway knot on Ferizaj-Gylan” National Road, Minister Lekaj has said.
But the answer seems to displease MP Topalli.
What I understood is very painful. Feirzaj is the second investor in this highway, and this has become connected to capitals... then why should we invest? I'm not saying this as a threat, but you have to calculate that if you continue this way, Skopje's Ferizaj highway can end up in Ferizaj, and not pass any means further. So it's good not to play Ferizaj's producers, with the citizens of Ferizaj”, Deputy Topalli said.
