In an interview with the Associated Press, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic acknowledged that the solution to the conflict is in Belgrade's interest, and that for that reason he had launched domestic talks.
We've had frozen conflicts for many years. Is it good to have this frozen conflict for the next 50 or 100 years? I don't think so. That's why I started internal discussions”, he declares.

“With Albanians I think we need a long-term peace agreement for the next 200 years”, Vucic went on, adding that all sides “will have to make some concessions”.
Vucic also promised he would take Serbia to the EU and said the fact that Russia is arming the Serbian Army does not threaten that goal.
