Vettingou starts with the chairman of this court, Bashkim Dedja, re-elected a few weeks ago for a second term and after that, members Vitore Tusa, Altina Jojaj, Fatmir Hoxha, Gani Dizdari, Besnik Imeraj and Fatos Lulo.
The Vetting process includes controlling the wealth of the top judges, their relatives, but also the connections they have had during the exercise of duty with the “backRugund” criminal.
According to the same sources, in total 35 files of the 7 constitutional judges have been selected, which after the assessment by the High Council of Justice Inspectorate will be forwarded to an independent Qualification Commission.
These files belong to the judgments of 2013-2016, while the resolution of the KLD Inspectorate will link the release of the Property Declaration and Classified Information Directorate.
No details are given as to how long this process of reassessing constitutional judges will last, while days ago this institution celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Present at the ceremony, the top heads of state gave their assessments, even Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has been very tough with people of the justice system singled out the Constitutional Court, when he said that “this is the only institution where you can step up”. One of the files Rama singled out was the one who broke the sea deal with Greece.
