Saudi Arabia's Russia makes military and energy deals

The announcement of a contract opening the way for Riyadh's purchase of S400 antiaircraft defence systems under the supervision of the Kremlin constitutes a deal of several milliades and marks a highlight among the several-month dialogue between the two countries, but also symbolises the growing role Moscow plays in the Middle East.
About 15 agreements representing billions of dollars, according to Russian direct investment fund president Kiril Dmitriev, were signed during this visit.
These contracts also opened the way for technology to be transferred by enabling the production of S-400 systems in Saudi Arabia, Arsh explains.
Two other agreements mainly envision the creation of two joint investment funds in the field of energy and high technologies.
