Ramush Haradinaj shows what the Government will do for the LGBTI community

Haradinaj on this occasion once again voiced the pledge of Kosovo institutions to protect the rights of this community. The prime minister said that organising the Crenaria Parade for the first time shows Kosovo's commitment to respecting the rights of the LGBTI community.

This means a lot to the very specifics that our country has, our society, but this proves also our courage, both our citizens, and our social but institutional, that what we have stated with the Constitutions, that we will respect the rights of all indiscriminately, and all human freedoms are respected. Kosovo is ready to respect the rights of the LGBI community in Kosovo, and at the same time enable a human equality and freedom, freedom of choice, on the basis of determining each and each” Prime Minister Haradinaj has said.

Representatives of nongovernmental organisations dealing with the protection and promotion of community rights LGBTI, Agim Margilaj, have cited good legislation Kosovo has in this area.

Over the course of many years we have worked hard and earnestly to advance the rights of the LGBTI community in Kosovo, as fundamental rights that are guaranteed with the Constitutions and legislation in Kosovo. We consider that the Republic of Kosovo has a legislation among the most advanced in the Western Balkans region, a legislation that is in line with European Union legislation”.

Margilaj has cited the National Action Plan for Community Rights LGBTI, drafted by the Counseling and Co-ordination Group for the Rights of the LGBTI Group, as one of the specific practices that does not exist in other countries in the region.
The Crenaria parade, with the motto “on behalf of love”, will be organised on Tuesday, October 10th.
