On the second day of the official visit to Turkey, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Behgjet Pacolli opened the Kosovo-Turkey Business Forum, together with Turkish Development Minister Lütfi Elvan, and in the presence of many companies, both from the Turkish side, but also from Kosovo.
In this case, Foreign Minister Pacolli has praised Turkey's current investments in Kosovo, urging them to increase Turkish investments in Kosovo.
He has stressed the priorities Kosovo market offers, the proximity between the two countries and two peoples, the geographical position of Kosovo closer to Europe, the ease of procedures to do business in our country and the Strategic Investment Law.
Praising Kosovo as an important trade partner, which has made important reforms for economic development in recent years, Turkey's Economic Development Minister, Lütfi Elvan, has stressed that Turkey's current investments in Kosovo are taken as an example for other countries as well.
In this direction, he also invited Turkish companies to increase their investments in Kosovo, assessing that the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between Kosovo and Turkey gives priority to Turkish companies in relation to competitive companies from the region and which then from Kosovo can have access to the European Union market, but also other markets, in which Kosovo can export their products.
So far, a total of about 700 Turkish businesses have been registered in Kosovo. Close to 200 are stable companies with a stability of operation. Turkish companies have so far invested 367.80m euros in Kosovo. Investments are oriented in banking, education, health, production, construction, construction, trade, hotels, transport and other areas.
